Course Overview

The Career Guidance and Employment Support program is a training designed to build participant capacity in supporting apprentices as they transition from training to employment or entrepreneurship.

Course Objectives

  • Develop competencies in career counseling and job readiness support.

  • Equip participants with interview preparation and workplace soft skills facilitation techniques.

  • Strengthen capacity to guide apprentices in job placement and entrepreneurship pathways.

  • Enhance employer and stakeholder engagement strategies.

  • Enable effective tracking, reporting, and impact assessment of placement outcomes.

  • Unit 1: Career Counseling and Job Readiness

  • Unit 3: Job Placement and Entrepreneurship Support

  • Unit 4: Employer Engagement and Stakeholder Coordination

  • Unit 5: Tracking, Reporting, and Assessment

Training Methodology

The training will use an interactive online format, combining short lectures, practical demonstrations, role-play, mock interviews, group discussions, and case-based exercises. Localized examples from Bangladesh’s employment and entrepreneurship ecosystem will be used to contextualize the learning.

Assessment Methods

  • Active participation in role-plays, mock interviews, and group tasks

  • Practical exercises such as creating CVs, interview plans, and business idea outlines

  • Development of a simple stakeholder engagement plan

  • Designing a placement tracking sample system (using Google Sheets or Airtable)

Successful participants will be able to apply their skills in:

  • Career counseling services within TVET institutions and NGOs

  • Employment and skills development projects led by government and development partners

  • Youth support and entrepreneurship programs with MFIs, SME Foundation, or BSCIC

  • Private or corporate HR/recruitment sectors that require trained job placement officers
